The Evolution of My Artistry
I am Heidemarie Rothe, an artist whose passion for creativity has shaped my entire life. I graduated in 1987 from Bremen University in Germany, where I first honed my craft. Since then, I have been an independent artist, consistently exploring new ways to express my vision through acrylic paintings, glasswork, and poetry.
A Career Shaped by Passion and Experience
Over the past 30+ years, I have had the privilege of exhibiting my artwork across Germany, Holland, and the UK, building a well-established reputation in Northern Germany, particularly within the renowned artist colony of Worpswede. This vibrant community has been a significant influence on my work, fuelling my creative expression and inspiring my artistic journey.
Throughout my career, I have collaborated with the FABET Art Group and worked closely with my long-time publisher and supporter, Axel Rehfeld. Together, we have not only brought my art to the public eye but have also published poetry and books that reflect my unique voice and artistic vision.
The Evolution of My Work
In 1991, I founded Athero Atelier, where I continue to create and explore new artistic forms. My work spans a wide array of mediums, each reflecting a deep connection to my surroundings, my experiences, and the ever-evolving nature of art itself.
Through every piece, I aim to evoke emotion, stir thought, and leave a lasting impression. Whether through the vibrant colours of my acrylic paintings or the intricate beauty of my glasswork, I strive to create art that speaks to both the heart and mind.
